Southern Phone will be subject to an embargo over the Christmas-New Year period which will impact orders for ADSL and NBN Broadband services. The embargo period commences on Monday, 11th December 2017 and will be lifted on Friday, 12th January 2018. Mobiles services will not be affected.

There are a number of important restrictions imposed by telecommunications service providers generally at this time of the year.

During the Embargo period:

  • Orders for standard services will be accepted and processed as usual, however due to network and carrier embargos, services will experience extended delivery times. This may effect order delivery times both before and after the embargo
  • Provisioning activities associated with non-standard services and any network re-configuration activities, will not be undertaken
  • Service deliveries that require Technician attendance will be limited (NBN, New Connections, Relocations, Faults)

We will also be reducing planned network activity to emergency only work, to reduce the risk of outages affecting customers.
