Included calls are standard calls to landlines and mobiles, voicemail deposit and retrieval, international calls, calls to 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers and 100 SMS (except the $59 Cap Plan which includes 500 SMS). Once the call cap is reached normal charges apply. There is no rollover of call credits. They expire at the end of the billing month.
 
Other Charges and Features
  • Standard calls 50 cents per 30 seconds, except the $129 Cap Plan where calls are 40 cents per 30 seconds.
    (Standard calls include calls to other mobiles (not satellite phones), to fixed phones and are billed in 30 second increments). International calls are billed at individual rates to each country. A 35c connection fee applies to all standard calls.
  • *Plus Option on 19 and 29 Cap Plans: Calls to your Home Phone if on the Home Super, HomeFree or HomeLD Plans or to any other Home Super, Cap 19 or Cap 29 Mobile billed on the same Southern Phone Account are 1 cent per minute for the first 5 minutes, then standard call rates apply. (Calls are billed in 30 second increments. A 39c connection fee applies to all calls when you select this 1 cent inter account call option.)
  • SMS Messages: 25c (up to 160 characters)
  • Voicemail deposit: 7.5c per 30 seconds
  • Voicemail retrieval: 15c per 30 seconds
  • Standard MMS (Multi Media Messaging): 77 cents
  • Video MMS: 99 cents
  • Data charges: Casual usage $2.50 per MB (min 100KB); Data Pack 1 $10.00/5MB; Data Pack 2 $15.00/10MB; Data Pack 3 $25.00/25MB. Casual usage rates apply to services where a Data Pack has not been added.
  • GSM SIM replacement fee $20
  • Reconnection after non payment of account: $30
  • Minimum monthly charge is billed monthly in advance. The first bill will have a charge applied in
    arrears from sign up to bill date and also one month in advance.
  • There is no rollover of included call credits - they expire at the end of the month.
Services that are not included in your credit but are charged in addition to your monthly spend include:
  • Premium Text and voting competitions
  • Premium numbers eg 1900 numbers and competitions
  • International roaming
  • Directory assistance
  • Mobile commerce transactions eg Ringtones
  • Mobile internet
  • All other calls and services once you pass your cap
International Roaming
GSM international roaming allows allows you to use your mobile service in countries around the world where international roaming arrangements are in place with carriers in those countries. If you're planning to take your mobile overseas you'll need to contact Southern Phone to make sure your mobile service is activated for international roaming. Southern Phone advises customers to be mindful that international roaming charges vary greatly, are outside of our control and can often be much higher than expected.
 
Mobile Cap Plans - International call rates
 
  1. The standard mobile cap plan call connection fee of 35 cents (or 39 cents if the 19 Cap Plus or 29 Cap Plus options are selected) applies to all international calls made from a mobile phone.

  2. There will be an $8 Port Out charge applied if you transfer your service to another provider.
  3. Southern Phone reserves the right to reject any application without providing reasons. We also reserve the right to change or withdraw any offer at any time.
